Love your blog loads; really love the RAW series!!! Here is my rawest picture

I’ve been shooting RAW again! RAW is the inspiration of my most recent series of portraits that I have been working on for a new book about emotion. Everyone I have shot so far have been friends from the various areas of my life and this time we included the lovely Brandi Nicole a BE One reader who traveled to NYC especially for the shoot.

She was photographed that day along side super models and A-list celebrities of the likes of Coco Rocha, Alek Wek, Alan Cumming, Kelly Bensimon and Beth Stern to name but a few….. It’s a really simple set up shot at my Studio NB in the Meat Packing District. I use one light source and of course everything is shot with my Sony A900 using the 85mm lens.

I also shot a couple of my favorite designers this time round – John Crocco, Duncan Quinn and Keanan Duffty, two true Brits that are good friends as well as extremely talented men.

Everybody brings their own spice to the shoot and shooting Coco once again was a blast. She lip synced to a song throughout her shoot with her husband looking on, a little different to my last shoot with her with 20 other models for Nine West!

If you are interested in being shot for my RAW series then upload your rawest shot to DR Photo and look out for a call from Studio NB….

My RAW series continues with subjects pulled from all walks of life. This current sitting includes Estelle Darlings, Lucien Etori, Robert Verdi, Veronica Webb and Katie Lee Joel among others. The idea is simple and straight forward to capture the RAW energy that makes us who we are. It can be dramatic or subtle but it has to be authentic. The dress code is denim or nothing at all. Why denim….because denim to me is like a second skin. It can be functional, sexy, serious and flamboyant. I wish I could describe myself that way

By the way I am looking for more subjects, my next sitting this week is already full but we are shooting for this new book every month, so please let me know if you are interested in participating and send in some photos to be considered.

All images are shot on my Sony A900 at Studio NB in the Meat Packing District at F11 at 160th of a second
