As many of you know I just returned from Las Vegas where I was hosting Sunday night for Sony at the WPPI Expo. Thousands upon thousands showed up for my presentation and I have to say I had a blast! The last time I was in Vegas was also with Sony for CES in January which although electronics orientated, the WPPI is specifically photography related – my peeps! We flew in from NYC that afternoon and went straight to the venue to get the lay of the land. The Event was at the concert venue at the MGM Grand which is massive. Linkin Park had performed there the night before and when I arrived things were a little behind schedule. First things first I started to go through my presentation, do sound checks and basically trouble shoot all the technicalities as we were going live in just a matter of hours. My agenda for the evening was to give tips and insider specifics on how I shoot. I was presenting a mixture of fashion, philanthropic and advertising images combined with behind the scenes, the making of and finished products. All the images had been shot on the  Sony A900 (my camera of choice) or the A55 and the NEX-5. I also shot on stage live in front of the masses with subjects pulled from the crowd ( all fellow photographers)  using the same lights and set up that I have been using for the RAW series. After that we had a fashion show that I MC-ed with 6 local beauties from Vegas. The idea was to give my brethren an insider look at what cameras folk use at NYC fashion week and why. The evening a a huge success as you can see from the photos – I look forward to doing an even bigger event next year at WPPI!
