Debating with another photographer
Hello Mr. Barker,
I have been debating with another local Las Vegas photographer about making a living in the business. He’s telling me I need to update my equipment and need more schooling because my pictures are not very good etc. I told him that I’ve been getting advice from a photographer that makes a living and has been for 20+ years (you) and said not to invest a bunch of money in equipment until I learn how to take great pictures with what I have and not go blow a lot of money on something that I many not get a return on my investment unless I want to be a hobbyist, which is pretty much what he is. He also said that most photographers have day jobs and use photography to supplement their income which I’m not striving to be. I would like to make a living in photography even in this high competitive digital world we live in. You have a opinion on this issue?
Ambrose
