Amsterdam is one of my favorite European cities – romantic, historic and exciting. It’s a city that comes alive every morning with thousands of bicycles, like migrating birds, taking their passengers to work. The city is designed in a spiral formation around a series of canals, somewhat like Venice, except it’s not sinking! We spent quite some time there shooting ANTM Cycle 11, and Jack loved taking bike rides to Vondelpark, which is a fabulous park in the heart of the city.

This trip, we stayed at the hip and chic Hotel V, which I highly recommend. The American Book Store in Amsterdam was hosting our stay, and we were taken care of by Rick Lightstone (great name – no?). Rick organized a whole host of press, from traditional newspaper and glossy mags to TV and radio show interviews. We even shot a segment for the finale of BeneLux’s Top Model. (But I can’t tell you who the finalists will be!!) Rick set up two book signings that day, as one was obviously not enough for Amsterdam, and although thoroughly exhausted, we had an amazing whirlwind trip and look forward to returning soon.
